ali Police deputy chief Brig. Gen. I Dewa Putu Anom wasfound dead in his room at the Kartika Chandra Hotel in South Jakarta on Tuesdayafternoon, a day after attending a National Police meeting held at a nearbyconvention center.
Bali Police chief Insp. Gen. Benny Mokalu said that Dewa was pronounced dead at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. His remains have been transferred to the Sukanto Police Hospital in East Jakarta for a postmortem.
'I have not been informed about the cause of his death, but I have previously acknowledged that he had a heart problem,' Benny said over the phone.
On Monday, Dewa had taken part in a meeting with National Police chief Gen. Sutarman, regional police chiefs and the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) to discuss internal supervision within the force.
Dewa, who graduated from the Police Academy in 1985, served as deputy head of the Bali section of the National Police's counterterrorism squad, Densus 88, in 2006.
He later held several posts at the National Police Educational Division (Lemdikpol), before being appointed deputy chief of the Bali force in April this year
