ransportation Minister E.E. Mangindaan launched on Tuesday the Ramp Safety Campaign (RSC) as an attempt to increaseawareness in upholding safety within the aviation industry. The four-day campaign, which runs through Dec. 6, featuring seminars, workshops and field checks.
'All stakeholders need to change their mind-set to build synergy, network and implement new values that support safety in daily routines,' Mangindaan said.
Airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II, cargo companies and state-owned oil company Pertamina are among the companies participating in the campaign.
Head of airport administration Adi Kanrio Dayanun said the RSC was the right tool to warn all stakeholders that flight safety required zero tolerance in its implementation.
'We are aiming to increase safety and professionalism in all areas of this industry so that we can further improve the image of our flight industry's safety worldwide,' he said.(dic)
