After 39 days of police checks, 12,383 motorists have been ticketed for trespassing on Transjakarta bus lanes in the city.

Jakarta Police traffic operation directorate head Adj. Sr. Comr. Budianto said the police confiscated 6,390 driving licenses and 5,993 car ownership documents.

'€œThis type of traffic violation is still dominated by motorcyclists and private cars. Our operation will continue until the Transjakarta bus lanes are free of motorcycles and private cars,'€ he said as quoted by
tribunnews.com.

Violating motorists consisted of 8,983 private employees, 1,170 students and 1,906 public transportation drivers.

The city police are still conducting Operation Zebra to impose maximum fines on all traffic offenses, including driving in the opposite direction and parking on sidewalks.
