The house is in Karang Duwur village in Kebumen, Central Java. 'The house was confiscated today and was registered under the name of Muhtar Ependy,' KPK spokesperson Johan Budi told a press conference at the KPK headquarters in Kuningan, South Jakarta, referring to Muhtar, a businessman suspected of acting as a middleman for Akil.
This KPK has seized a long list of assets allegedly linked to Akil under the suspicion that they were purchased using illicit money.
On Monday, the KPK seized a 6,000 meter square mahogany plantation at Cimuleuk village in Sukabumi, West Java. Then on Tuesday, the KPK also confiscated Akil's house on Jl. Pancoran 3 No. 8 in South Jakarta, as well as two cars, a Toyota Kijang Innova and a Ford Fiesta.
The two cars brought the total of cars confiscated during the KPK's investigation into Akil's money laundering charges to 33 cars, a new record for the number of vehicles seized by the commission.
