Hanura suspends chief advisor amid scandal

T

he People'€™s Conscience Party (Hanura) has suspended Bambang W. Soeharto from his post as chairman of the party'€™s advisory board amid suspicions that he was involved in a graft scandal.

The party made the call after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) placed a travel ban on Bambang as president director of PT Pantai Aan.

The ban was imposed in connection to the KPK'€™s case centering on a land certificate forgery in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

The KPK has named two suspects in the case: Praya Prosecutor'€™s Office head M. Subri and PT Pantai Aan director Lusita Ani Razak.

'€œSo that Pak Bambang can concentrate more on his duties as president director of PT Pantai Aan, the party has decided to suspend him,'€ Hanura chairman Gen. (ret) Wiranto said on Tuesday as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Wiranto said Bambang confirmed his company was involved in the graft case but made it clear he was not involved.

'€œHe said as a director he had never given an order or consent to [Lusita], who is one of the company'€™s directors,'€ Wiranto said.
