The government has bowed to pressure from nationalistic quarters by scrapping its plan to allow foreigners to become majority or controlling shareholders in airport management, in the much-anticipated revised
negative investments' list (DNI).

The state-owned airport operator may privatize some of its stock. Why not go public and raise more money to build more airports through the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and then recruit world-class professionals to operate the airports?

As the country's points of entry, airports and seaports managed by foreign companies will always invite scrutiny in the name of national security, at least that's what the US said after 9/11.
