The KPK detained Sudjadnan in connection with a graft case in the abuse of funds for international conferences at the ministry in November 2013.

Sudjadnan was previously convicted for mismanaging the renovation of Indonesia's embassy in Singapore in 2003.
In the current case, Sudjadnan allegedly abused his authority and misappropriated funds for the ministry's activities, such as seminars between 2004 and 2005, allegedly causing Rp 18 billion (US$1.5 million) in state losses.
