'This has gone on for around three weeks. The elephants have destroyed the young plants,' said Hamdan, a villager, on Thursday.
Tanjung Simalidu village head Julianto confirmed the account, saying that the wild elephants had damaged around 200 hectares of plantations. 'Dozens of elephants also entered residential areas,' said Julianto.
