herd of elephants entered Tanjung Semalidu village inTebo regency, damaging hundreds of hectares of rubber and oil palm plantations.

'€œThis has gone on for around three weeks. The elephants have destroyed the young plants,'€ said Hamdan, a villager, on Thursday.

Tanjung Simalidu village head Julianto confirmed the account, saying that the wild elephants had damaged around 200 hectares of plantations. '€œDozens of elephants also entered residential areas,'€ said Julianto.
