mmigration officers arrested last Friday a Chinesenational and Interpol fugitive, Guo Jun Wen, for his alleged role in economiccrimes while he was processing a visa extension to stay in Batam.

'€œGuo is on the list of Interpol fugitives for economic crimes in his home country. He is now being detained at the Barelang police precinct,'€ Batam Immigration Office head Yudi Kurniadi told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday.

Yudi said Guo had lived in the city with his wife, a local woman, for six years in a luxurious house in Central Batam.

He said the 64-year-old would soon be handed over to Interpol officers and deported to China.
