mmigration officers arrested last Friday a Chinesenational and Interpol fugitive, Guo Jun Wen, for his alleged role in economiccrimes while he was processing a visa extension to stay in Batam.
'Guo is on the list of Interpol fugitives for economic crimes in his home country. He is now being detained at the Barelang police precinct,' Batam Immigration Office head Yudi Kurniadi told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday.
Yudi said Guo had lived in the city with his wife, a local woman, for six years in a luxurious house in Central Batam.
He said the 64-year-old would soon be handed over to Interpol officers and deported to China.
