Two Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia are facing the death penalty for alleged murder, an official revealed on Wednesday.
Jambi Social Affairs, Manpower and Transmigration Agency head Harris AB said that the migrant workers from Kerinci regency were alleged to have killed a Malaysian citizen after the migrant workers were caught stealing a donation box in a mosque.
Harris said the suspects, identified as Iwel and Riko, had been tried for having false staying permits but had not yet been tried for murder.
'We will help them. We've contacted the Indonesian Embassy, which is now handling it,' he added.
