T

he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questionedon Thursday Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) lawmaker Jazuli Juwaini as a witnessin a graft case involving former Constitutional Court chief justice AkilMochtar.

Jazuli was questioned in his capacity as a former candidate in Banten'€™s 2011 gubernatorial election.

Jazuli and his running mate, Makmun Muzakki, lost to Ratu Atut Chosiyah and her running mate, Rano Karno, in the election.

The KPK has accused Akil of accepting a bribe from Atut'€™s brother, Tubagus Chaeri '€œWawan'€™ Wardhana.

The bribe was allegedly paid in relation to a case concerning a local election dispute in Lebak regency, Banten. The court decided in favor of the plaintiff, Lebak Deputy Regent Amir Hamzah, who had lost the election to Iti Octavia, and called for a revote. Amir was nominated by the Golkar Party.
