wo traffic police officers were hospitalized afterbeing injured while on duty handling gridlocked traffic on Jl. Cacing inTanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Thursday.
City police traffic directorate deputy head Adj. Sr. Comr. Sambodo Purnomo said on Thursday that the North Jakarta Municipal Police traffic unit deputy chief, Comr. Doni Hermawan, and his subordinate, Second Adj. Insp. Amirudin, suffered major head and hand injuries after a motorcycle they were riding was hit by a container truck at 1:15 a.m.
The traffic jam was triggered by flooding that was caused by incessant rain on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
'They are undergoing intensive medical treatment at the Ananda Hospital in Bekasi,' Sambodo said.
The truck driver, Abdu Ahdi, and his assistant were detained for questioning
