tate-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan signed ananticorruption memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Supreme Audit Agency(BPK) head Hadi Pramono in Jakarta on Friday as part of the ministry'€™scommitment to promoting transparency in every project tendered by state-ownedenterprises.

'€œDetailed information on future tenders is to be shared with the BPK, including what parties are responsible for the project, and the payment system, among other things. This policy will be implemented as soon as possible,'€ Dahlan said as quoted by Antara news agency.

Dahlan said that the government was considering obliging a non-cash transfer for every project tender offered by state-owned enterprises.

The policy is necessary to avoid bribery, which is often resorted to by subcontractor companies vying for government projects, such as seen in graft cases centering on the construction of the Hambalang sports complex.

Meanwhile, Hadi lauded the move, saying that it was consistent with the spirit of good corporate governance.

'€œThe MoU is important considering there is a lot of money involved in projects tendered by state-owned enterprises,'€ he said.
