emocratic Party (PD) politician Gede Pasek Suardika is to sue the party's acting chairman Syarief Hasan and secretary general Edhie 'Ibas' Baskoro Yudhoyono for defamation.
'I will sue Syarief Hasan and Ibas for defamation as they accused me of having violated the party's ethics,' Pasek said as quoted by kontan.co.id on Monday.
Pasek was recently fired from the PD faction at the House of Representatives with an official letter signed by Syarief and Ibas, who is also the youngest son of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the party's official chairman.
Many deem Pasek's ouster was triggered due to his close relationship with former PD chairman Anas Urbaningrum.
Anas was removed from the party's chairmanship after he was named a suspect in the Hambalang graft scandal. He has also been detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
