he government has written to the Hong Kong authorities to quickly resolve the physical abuse case against Erwiana Sulistyaningsih, an Indonesian migrant worker who was seriously injured by her employers.
The Manpower and Transmigration Ministry's director general for overseas labor placement and protection, Reyna Usman, said the government was concerned about the progression of the investigation.
'We are waiting for the Hong Kong government to evidence strong commitment to the resolution of this case,' Reyna said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Erwiana, 22, was reportedly left unable to walk following eight months of abuse in the southern Chinese city and was admitted to an Indonesian hospital in critical condition last week after returning home.
