'Hundreds of new buses have been ordered to serve all routes across the city and improve Transjakarta's services to the public,' he said during the launch of 30 new Transjakarta buses on Wednesday.
He said that he was committed to making Transjakarta the city's public transportation icon. Transjakarta currently has 500 buses but only 400 are in operation as 100 of them are undergoing repairs.
Jokowi, accompanied by Transportation Agency head Udar Pristono, said at least 1,200 new buses would be ordered to serve 12 corridors across the city.
