Spokesman for the city police, Sr. Comr. Rikwanto, said that rescuer workers from the Water Police and the city administration were still searching for the missing people.
'The ship was transporting 139 passengers, including 26 crew members, while according to the data at the police, only 132 have been rescued,' he said.
He said the police were still investigating the cause of the incident. Thus far only three crew members have been interrogated at the city police headquarters.
The ill-fated ship sank 22 miles off Tanjung Priok Port on its way to transport 113 passengers and a number of cars and motorcycles to Tanjung Pinang in Bangka-Belitung.
Rikwanto said that according to the crew members, it was raining but the weather was good when the boat departed Tanjung Priok.
