he National Police have charged one of two men arrestedon suspicion of terrorism by Densus 88 counterterrorism squad in Kenjeran,Surabaya, East Java, on Monday evening.
'One of the alleged terrorists, Isnaini Ramdhoni, 30, has been charged,' National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Ronny F. Sompie said on Wednesday as quoted by Antara news agency. Meanwhile, Abdul Majid, 35, who was also apprehended in Monday's raid, was still considered a suspect, he went on.
The East Java Police and Densus 88 are currently examining the incident site to uncover more about their alleged terror network and possible connection to terror plots.
'They have been taken to several places to uncover evidence, such as where they hid raw, semi-finished and finished materials used for bombs. We are searching the places,' said Ronny.
Earlier, National Police spokesperson Brig.Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said Isnaini Ramdhoni, aka Dhoni, had been identified as being part of a terrorist network in Poso, Central Sulawesi. 'They are part of a group that was believed to have once held training activities,' he said.
Boy further said that Dhoni had attended six months of tadrib askira (military-style training) with a terrorist cell. 'For six months, he [Dhoni] was in Poso,' he said.
Boy confirmed that both Dhoni and Majid had been identified as being part of the terrorist network led by Santoso, who is on the police's most-wanted list. They were arrested by Densus 88 in a raid on a rented house on Jl. Tanah Merah Sayur I, Kenjeran, Surabaya, at 7 p.m. local time on Monday.
