Officer In Charge Bandara SSK II, Baikuni, said the plane should have taken off at 08:35 a.m. 'But, due to the trouble, the pilot decided to cancel the flight,' he added.
Station Manager for Garuda at the airport, Irawan, said 187 passengers each received lunch and compensation of Rp 300,000 (US$25) for the delay.
'Besides the 187 passengers, some passengers have departed on our other planes,' Irawan said.
After about five hours, the plane was able to fly to Jakarta. 'It took a long time as we had to wait for spare parts from Jakarta,' Irwan added.
