wo unidentifiedarmed robbers fled with a bag containing Rp 100 million (US$8,231) afterwrestling it from a woman in Tangerang on Tuesday. An eyewitness, identified asAdi, said a Daihatsu Xenia minivan with a flat tire had pulled over on Jl.Kalipasir, right behind the Tangerang Great Mosque.

'€œAll of a sudden, two men on motorcycles stopped next to the car and one of them tried to take a bag from the driver,'€ Adi said on Tuesday.

While the driver tried to fight off the robber, the other man slashed her hand with a machete. The armed robbers fled with the bag, which contained Rp 100 million in cash.

The driver, later identified as Martha, is an employee of an automobile spare parts company. Martha had just withdrawn Rp 100 million from the bank on behalf of the company.

The police are investigating the case.
