overnor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo said he would not relaxany rulings to allow PT Jakarta Monorail to fulfill all the requirements forthe monorail project.
'We want PT Jakarta Monorail to meet all the administrative requirements and make progress in the field. We have to say sorry if the company fails to fulfill its administrative requirements. We will not help the company carry out the project,' Jokowi said as quoted by tribunnews.com at City Hall on Tuesday.
Deputy Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama said he was wary of PT Jakarta Monorail's financial ability to carry out the project as following the launch of the construction in October 2013, no progress had been made.
He also said the construction permit granted to the company in 2004 would be revoked if it failed to meet the deadline set by the Jakarta Planning Development Agency (Bappeda).
Jokowi revealed on Monday had yet to sign the cooperation agreement with PT Jakarta Monorail as it had not yet fulfilled the three main requirements required before it could carry out the project.
