Iwan Fals, the nation's most famous singer and songwriter, held a concert outside his house in Depok, West Java, on Saturday.
Although the event was not widely publicized, more than 3,500 people crowded the venue, despite a downpour.
The 52-year-old balladeer, known for his protest anthems during the New Order, belted out several popular songs, including 'Pelangi' (Rainbow) for fans, including West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan.
The concert was named Pelangi: Merah Panggung Kita (Rainbow: Red is Our Stage) in honor of the election.
'Just like the rainbow, we should all live in harmony despite differences,' Iwan said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
