For better or worse, everyone just needs one good person to bring out the best of them.

Teen movie 3600 Detik (3,600 Seconds) promises just that '€” a heart-warming story that centers on Sandra, played by newcomer Sheryl '€œShae'€ Gething.

The sweet and fun teenage girl, living a normal life in her high school years, is a daddy'€™s girl. She loves to spend good times with her old man (Ponco Buwono) '€” having pleasant breakfast in the morning and reading books at night '€” as her mother (Wulan Guritno) is too busy with work.

The work separates the mother from her only child as well as from her husband, which sees the family fall apart.

Broken, Sandra becomes bitter toward the world around her following to her parents'€™ divorce as her father decides to leave the country.

Feeling hurt and betrayed, she'€™s no longer sweet and fun Sandra, but becomes a rebellious young girl.

Sandra'€™s rebellious attitude is seen through her careless and ignorant behavior, how she colors her hair red, pierces her nose and starts to lose her best friends.

Her mother tries to fix her bond with her daughter, moving to another house as a fresh start.

Broken-hearted Sandra doesn'€™t care what her mother tries to do. As she enrolls in a new school, Sandra sees those around her as enemies.

Unexpectedly, her attitude catches the attention of the school'€™s top student, Leon (Stefan William), who tries to win her attention by being friendly. Still preoccupied with her own problems, Sandra coldly accepts Leon'€™s offer.

On her second day, Sandra shows her rebellious nature and is caught by her teacher when climbing up the school'€™s wall, lighting a cigarette and skipping class.

As expected, instead of expelling her from school, her teacher, Pak Doni (Indra Birowo) decides to punish her instead '€” ordering Sandra to paint the school'€™s walls with Leon supervising her. She later runs away from her wall painting punishment but lands another punishment: Tutoring sessions with Leon.

The film does not go far beyond the rule of thumb for a chick flick '€” the friendship between Sandra and Leon begins to grow '€” she smiles more, makes up with her mother and starts to open up little by little to Leon, prompting her to present 3,600 seconds of unforgettable moments for Leon.

The movie, which hits theaters on April 3, is another film directed by Nayato Fio Nuala who is behind popular flicks like Me vs High Heels, Virgin 2 and 3 and 18++ Forever Love.

The latest flick, 3600 Detik, is adapted from a best-selling teen-lit under the same title, written by Charon.

Shae '€” who is more popular as a singer than as an actress, with hits like '€œSayang'€ (Darling) and '€œKok Telpon-Telpon Sih?'€ (Why Are You Calling Me?) '€” is familiar face among Indonesian, Malaysian and Singaporean audiences.

In the film, Shae displays her powerful voice in '€œSayang'€ and '€œTetaplah Tersenyum'€ (Keep Smiling), which are included on the film'€™s original soundtracks.

While heartthrob Stefan will certainly draw teenage girls familiar with his roles in many TV soap operas, Shae, unexpectedly, delivers promising, fresh acting.
