Gorontalo Police secure last day of open campaign period

'We have covered all loopholes, preventing unnecessary movement. We have also organized operations to maintain order,' Gorontalo Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Ahmad Yusuf Efendi said on Saturday.
He said that 505 personnel had been deployed to safeguard 23 prone areas throughout the province during the last day of the open campaign period. He said that the police would cooperate with other institutions to take down campaign banners on Sunday, the first day of the cooling-off period prior to the legislative election on April 9.
Two political parties campaigned in Gorontalo today-- The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) in Bone Bolango regency and the Nasdem Party in Gorontalo city.(dic)
