ank Indonesia (BI) Governor Agus Martowardojo has predicted that loan growth in the country's banking industry would reach between 20 and 21 percent in March year-on-year.
Earlier in January, loan growth reached 20 percent, while in February there was a slight slowdown in lending, at 19.9 percent.
The rise in bank lending in March was a cyclical pattern, Agus explained.
'We remain optimistic that national credit growth will stand at 15 to 17 percent [throughout this year], in line with targeted general economic indicators, which will be reached,' Agus said on Friday, as quoted by Kontan.
