akarta International School (JIS) does not have a license to run a Kindergarten, an official from the Education and Culture Ministry has said.
'JIS has licenses from the elementary school level. We didn't know JIS had a kindergarten,' said Lydia Freyani Hawad, director general of the directorate general of informal and non-formal early childhood education (PAUDNI) at the ministry on Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Lydia said the school's permit had not been renewed. She further said JIS was not a diplomatic school.
'It's not a combination of international and diplomatic school. It's an ordinary international school whose students are mostly Indonesians,' said Lydia.
A diplomatic representatives joint school is an international school established and organized by several foreign diplomatic representatives in Indonesia, which provided education and teaching services for children of foreign diplomatic and consular officials serving in Indonesia. (put/ebf)
