Fresh from the Masters tournament, South African Louis Oosthuizen is looking forward to debuting at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters this week held at the Royale Jakarta Gold Club.

In the tournament, which will run from April 24 until April 27, Oosthuizen will play against a stellar lineup that includes France'€™s Victor Dubuisson, Thailand'€™s Thongchai Jaidee and Kiradech Aphibarnrat as well as defending champion Bernd Wiesberger of Austria.

Ooisthuzen, who finished on the 25th in the Masters tournament at Augusta last week, was out of action for almost three months last year due to a bulging disc in his back.

'€œThe last few weeks have been really promising despite an injury,'€ he said during a teleconference with Indonesian media on Tuesday.

'€œThe back is fine at the moment. Some mornings it'€™s a little bit nagging but nothing close to how it was a few months ago. It was definitely not good last year. I really struggled with it and I know it'€™s always going to flare up every now and then,'€ said the 31-year-old golfer.

Despite being hampered by an injury, Oosthuizen returned to form by successfully defending the Volvo Golf Championship trophy on home soil in January.

With renewed self-confidence, Oosthuizen believes he is ready to take on the region'€™s best players, including EurAsia Cup heroes Anirban Lahiri of India and Bangladeshi Siddikur Rahman.

The fourth edition of the tournament features 150 golfers from 30 countries.

In a separate interview, Dubuisson, who will be taking part in the tournament for the first time, said that he was very impressed with the quality of golf in Asia, which prompted him to take part in the US$750,000 tournament next week.

'€œI am very impressed. I have been watching Thongchai, Kiradech, Jeev [Milkha Singh] and Gaganjeet [Bhullar] for years and they are all great players with big chances to win important tournaments'€.

'€œThere is now much more depth here, which is great for golf and will make the Indonesian Masters exciting to watch,'€ said the Frenchman, who has been playing professionally for the past four years.

The 23-year-old Dubuisson won the inaugural Turkish Airlines Open in November last year, where Tiger Woods and US Open champion Justin Rose were also on the green, has risen more than 100 spots in the world rankings to 23.

Having risen quickly through the golf ranks, Dubuisson said that he had no special strategy for that, except hard work.

'€œIt may sound boring but I have played almost every day since I was 10,'€ he said.

Commenting on his game, Dubuisson said that he needed to improve his putting and short game.

The tournament is the biggest golf event in Indonesia, with reportedly over 600 million viewers across 200 countries worldwide through the Asian Tour'€™s global television platform as well as local TV station Metro TV.
