orruption Eradication Commission(KPK) chief Abraham Samad announced that the KPK would also investigate theinvolvement of private parties in the graft allegation implicating formerSupreme Audit Agency (BPK) Hadi Purnomo.

'€œThis is just the beginning. We will also pursue the involvement of the private parties in this case,'€ Abraham said on Monday as quoted by kompas.com.

He said the KPK had gathered enough evidence to name Hadi a suspect.

Hadi Purnomo, who was named suspect on the first day of his retirement, is  accused of abusing his authority by approving a request made by the country'€™s largest private bank, Bank Central Asia (BCA), which had requested a tax objection worth Rp 5.7 trillion. KPK argued that because of his decision, the government had suffered Rp 375 billion in losses due to the unpaid tax.

Hadi Purnomo is suspected of violating the Corruption Law, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.(dic)
