The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened on a positive note in Thursday's first trading session gaining 0.19 percent to 4,902.42.
Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) data showed shares across nine sectors strengthened in the morning, kontan.co.id reported.
The three sectors booking the highest increase in the opening session were miscellaneous industries with 0.5 percent, followed by basic industries and mining with 0.4 percent and 0.36 percent respectively.
LQ45 index's highest gainers included PT Fortune Indonesia (FORU), PT Midi Utama Indonesia (MIDI) and PT Garda Tujuh Buana (GTBO).
Meanwhile, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BBTN), PT Kabelindo Murni (KLBM) and PT Jakarta International Hotels & Development (JIHD) were the index's biggest losers. (nfo)
