he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned eight witnesses in the graft case surrounding the procurement of medical equipment in Banten province involving Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah and her brother Tubagus Chaeri 'Wawan' Wardhana.
KPK spokesman Priharsa Nugraha said the eight witnesses were executives of medical equipment suppliers. 'They are all going to be questioned for TCW,' Priharsa said referring to Wawan by his initials.
The KPK earlier questioned Banten Health Agency head Jaja Budi as well as other staff members at the agency. The KPK suspects that there was a budget markup in the procurement project worth Rp 23 billion (US$1.98 million).
The Financial Audit Agency (BPK) found that there was a budget markup amounting to Rp 16 billion as well as three other indications of corruption in the procurement of medical equipment in Banten province.
