After entering the New Zealand market at the end of last year, Indonesian mangosteens will go on sale in Turkey in the near future.
The Agriculture Ministry's agriculture product marketing and management director general Emilia Harahap said that Indonesia would begin exports of mangosteens next month.
She said that this export activity was at the request of the Turkish government.
In addition, Indonesia would export pineapples, mangoes and bananas to Turkey.
"We will also invite investors to set up processing facilities in Indonesia because fresh fruit exports are limited by the age of the fruit," she said as quoted by kompas.com on Thursday.
She said the response from the New Zealand market was very positive. In the past five months, Indonesia has exported 15,000 kilograms of mangosteens to that country. (nfo)
