Atiqah Hasiholan says she has learned a lot from portraying a Batak woman in her latest film project.
In the movie, 3 Nafas Likas, the actress will portray Likas, the wife of Djamin Gintings, the famous military leader during the Independence War.
'From the life of Ibu Likas, I learned how not to be selfi sh and not to neglect the people we love,' she said as quoted by kompas.com.
Atiqah said that her character was a Batak Karo woman who had broken traditional roles to help those she cared for.
'We sometimes become selfish about our own wishes that we tend to forget the dreams of those who have died,' said the wife of actor Rio Dewanto.
Shooting on 3 Nafas Likas, to be directed by Rako Prijanto, is slated to start on April 26. The film will feature Vino G. Bastian, Marissa Anita and Mario Irwinsyah.
