Although there is a garbage dump in Cipeucang, the city of South Tangerang is drowning in litter. Risma, who lives on Jl. KH Salem in Pamulang subdistrict, said residents and passersby were ignoring notice signs forbidding dumping.
Your comments:
They should make a serious attempt to dispose of garbage properly and people should be educated how to do so. Perhaps all households should get wheelie bins and a certain number of bin bags weekly along with a weekly collection of rubbish.
However, this costs money so the authorities will have to think about how they can do this. How about power stations generating power from burned garbage, but with filters that would get rid of the harmful emissions?

If you go to South Tangerang areas run by private companies, such as Alam Sutera (where the mayor lives), BSD City, Summarecon Serpong, Gading Serpong and, to a lesser extent, Bintaro Jaya, these are relatively well-run and reasonably clean neighborhoods.
Those under the management of the municipal government such as Pamulang and Pondok Cabe are typically overrun with rubbish.
