A landslide hit Bukit Panjuik in Tigo Nagari district, Pasaman regency, West Sumatra, on Thursday, burying three people alive.
"The three persons were most likely buried by the landslide as their home collapsed after being hit by the slide on Thursday morning," Budi Hermawan, a spokesman for the Pesaman regency administration, said in Lubuk Sikaping on Friday as quoted by Antara news agency.
The three villagers believed to have been buried alive were identified as Idel, 23, Elni, 23 and their child.
The local disaster mitigation office with the help of a number of volunteers is searching for their bodies.
The landslide was triggered by incessant heavy rainfall that started on Wednesday. (hhr)
