Model Dominique Agisca Diyose is stepping out of her comfort zone.

For her role in Guardian, in which she played alongside Final Destination 2 actress, Sarah Carter, she did not mind getting a few cuts and bruises on her flawless skin.

In the action movie, which will hit theathers end of this month, Domi, as she is popularly known, plays the lead role as Sarah, a single mother who is good at martial arts.

'€œThis movie tells the story of a mother who is willing to sacrifice anything to protect her daughter,'€ she says.

With no experience in martial arts, she went the extra mile to learn from an expert trainer.

For three months, she learned how to fight with her bare hands and with a knife. She also learned boxing and shooting.

Domi said that she enjoyed the process and felt excited.

'€œAfter the training, I finally had to face real fighters on location. Just wait to see my action scenes on the screen, you'€™ll be surprised,'€ said Domi, who is of Javanese, Chinese and Japanese descent.

Guardian, directed by Helfi Kardit, is her fourth movie after Berbagi Suami (Love for Share, 2006), Karma (2008) and Kita Versus Korupsi (Us Versus Corruption, 2012).

This year also marks a turning point for the model as she plans to tie the knot in August with her fiance, Marshall Sastra.

'€œI once said that I prefer not dating a model. But like the Indonesian proverb says, '€˜your mouth is your tiger'€™, and look at me now,'€ said Domi, who will turn 26 in August.

Domi is far from regretting what she said as she is truly happy. She met Marshall, a model and interior designer, on a photo shoot location.

'€œMarshall is more into interior design than modeling. But he understands the fashion world and my job as a model. I can understand his work too. So it is always fun to chat with him.'€

As a couple, Domi and Marshall had been doing a few catwalk and photo shoot cover together. She admits that it is really nice to have found someone who can support her career.

Domi, who was born in the Central Java capital of Semarang, is the type of woman who is very active and loves to work. She plans to continue doing so after getting married.

'€œI don'€™t like just sitting down and doing nothing. For me, working is not only for money, but it is an expression of my passion.'€

Modeling has been her true passion and she intends to stay in the fashion world as long as she can.

'€œI can'€™t deny the fact that these days there are lots of young models who are energetic and talented. But as a model I think I can keep it up as long as I keep my body in shape, have strong character, attitude and also discipline.'€

Since her first shoot when she was 13 years old, Domi has always kept it in her mind that being a good model is not just about beauty.

'€œYou should have brains, not only a beautiful face and good body,'€ said Domi, who has joined many high end fashion shows -- from local designers like Anne Avantie, Obin, Biyan to international designers like Jean Paul Gaultier, Gucci, Chloe, LV and Channel.

Domi said she likes to read books and tries to keep up with the news.

As a model, sometimes she has to be on location at 8 a.m. for an 8 p.m. fashion show, giving her plenty of free time between rehearsals, makeup and hair sessions to read.

Apart from modeling, Domi is also a TV presenter at NET TV from Monday to Friday.

As a presenter she has to create and learn some materials.

'€œEvery morning after I wake up, I always catch up with the latest news by browsing. Thank God for the Internet, it helps me so much.'€

Domi said that with work, life is much more meaningful.

'€œI still have plenty of dreams and I want to do something good for others too.'€
