Fans and non fans alike were treated to a rare, if not once-in-a-lifetime, tour of White Hart Lane Stadium during a recent visit to the home turf of the English Premier League'€™s Tottenham Hotspur.

The tour was hosted by Hong Kong-based insurance company AIA for 10 people, comprising five winners of the Score a Trip to London and their companions.

The entourage was given the chance to explore the interior of the 36,284-capacity North London stadium as well as watch Spurs take on Fulham later on in the day, with the home side winning 3-1.

AIA announced in February its five-year partnership with Spurs and the company'€™s logo will appear on the club'€™s jersey starting from the start of next season '€” July '€”through 2019.

'€œTo watch a premier league match on-site is totally different from seeing it on TV. We were right in the middle of the action and witnessed, first hand, how the local fans supported their favorite team,'€ Teddy Febian Raja said, adding that he had been lucky to be there at all, as his cousin, who won the draw, was unable to make the trip due to prior plans.

'€œ[The atmosphere] is less dramatic than I thought it would be. It is livelier watching soccer at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium,'€ he was referring to the iconic stadium in Jakarta.

'€œWell ['€¦] maybe because Gelora Bung Karno Stadium is bigger and Indonesian fans are noisier,'€ he said.

For 27-year-old Dian Natasya, she said she was happy to see inside White Hart Lane Stadium even though she is not a soccer fan.

'€œThe tour is fun, we were lucky to see the stadium up close,'€ said the Surabaya University (Ubaya) lecturer.

The four-floor stadium includes a VIP lounge, several shops, the hall of fame alley and the locker rooms.

During the visit to the locker room '€” where players such as Adebayor, Harry Kane and Paulinho prepare for matches '€” the participants interacted with Spurs legend Cliff Jones. The participants also took their time to snaps pictures of the FA Cup trophy, which was last won by Spurs in 1991.

According to Jones, the locker room in the late 1950s, which he used, did not have a TV and had fewer jerseys.

'€œBack in my era we only had exactly 11 jerseys as we did not have substitutes,'€ he said.

According to him soccer in his era was more fun as it was more physical because it was less strict. '€œWe were also closer to our fans.'€

Spurs, which won the UEFA Cup in 1984, are currently in sixth place and will qualify for the Europa League if they retain their position until the end of the season.

AIA chief marketing officer Reza Varindra said that the London trip was one of a series of programs the company arranged during its five-year partnership with Spurs.

'€œThere will be a lot more to come.'€

For the rest of the tour, who were mostly women, the trip was more of an opportunity to enjoy the capital of the United Kingdom.

'€œIt'€™s a fun trip because I'€™ve made new friends,'€ said 56-year-old Lucyanna Hauw, who has been member of AIA insurance since three years ago.

She said that she was not a fan of soccer but she really enjoyed watching Spurs play for the first time.
