Sukabumi City Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Hari Santoso said the police had completed the dossiers and gathered enough evidence to be put against Emon on trial.
"We will submit the dossiers and hope that it will be brought to court as soon as possible," Hari said on Saturday as quoted by antaranews.com.
However, Hari said, despite their readiness, the police were still seeking additional victims to date, he added, there 114 children had filed reports to the police but the police had found six more names from Emon's diary.
"We are still in the process of recording the number of victims because we found 120 names of children we suspect are his victims written in his diary. However, only 114 children have filed reports. Due to this, we will be conducting a door-to-door survey to make the data as valid as possible," he said.
Hari said that Emon would be accused of violating Law No. 23/2002 on child protection, which has a maximum sentence of 15 years, in addition to Article 64 of the Criminal Code on repeated offenses.
However, Hari emphasized that even if Emon was sentenced, he would still receive therapy to treat and manage his disorder. (fss/dic)
