Jakarta and Canberra have agreed to resolve their strained bilateral relations and to seek new cooperation opportunities in the future.
'We have agreed to resolve the problems that once disrupted our relations and to find new partnership opportunities,' said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in a press conference following his meeting with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott in Batam, Riau Islands, on Wednesday.
Your comments:
Why bother Pak Yudhoyono? He will breach his promise in no time. You should just leave it as it is, to teach this arrogant man a lesson and work with China.

It is good to see the relationship getting back on track and I hope it extends to the next leadership in Indonesia.
Unfortunately Abbott has the habit of saying one thing and doing another and gives the impression of someone who cannot be trusted.
Fortunately the people-smuggling problem seems to have been solved with almost six months of no successful ventures.
For this Abbott should be congratulated as this will stop so many more people drowning trying to get to Australia.

Congratulations, Indonesia and Australia. I am proud of you. Peace, diplomacy and reconciliation are always better than war. Go forward for better lives.
There are many things to learn to get benefits together.
