Rockers hold free concert to support Jokowi-JK

I

ndonesia's biggest rock bad, Slank, held a free concert on Wednesday in support of the Joko "Jokowi" Widodo-Jusuf Kalla presidential ticket at Parkir Timur Senayan in Central Jakarta.

Slank was joined by several other musicians under the umbrella group "Revolusi Harmoni", including Kla Project, Krisdayanti, Trio Lestari and Yuni Shara.

The poster promoting the concert circulated through social media with hashtags such as #RevolusiHarmoni and #RevolusiMental in reference to Jokowi's recent declaration that Indonesians needed to reform their mind-set, which he said was still stuck in the past.

Participants were encouraged to wear checkered shirts, mimicking Jokowi's apparent campaign uniform.

According to Slank's official Twitter account @slankdotcom, the musicians opened the concert at 2 p.m. by singing Indonesia's national anthem "Indonesia Raya".

Jokowi and Kalla are supported by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), along with its coalition partners, the NasDem Party, the National Awakening Party (PKB) and the Hanura Party, which have secured a total of 36.97 percent or 207 out of the total 560 seats in the next House of Representatives.(fss)
