eneral Elections Commission (KPU) commissioner HadarNafis Gumay said the printing of ballot papers for North Sulawesi, Gorontaloand Maluku provinces were scheduled to be completed on Saturday.
The 3.54 million ballot papers were being printed by PT Temprint, he said.
"The total number [for the three provinces] includes 2 percent of spare ballot papers requested [by the KPU]," he told reporters at the printing firm, PT Gelora Aksara Pratama, in East Jakarta on Saturday.
Furthermore, the KPU has also commissioned 10,020 lists of the presidential-candidate tickets, which will also be completed on Saturday.
Hadar said that Temprint had begun printing the ballots on June 11 and, once completed, they would immediately be sent to the three provinces.
It will take around three to 10 days for the ballot papers and lists to reach their destinations, and Hadar added that they would arrive on June 24 at the latest.
The KPU deployed two officials to supervise the printing process, in addition to six police officers from the National Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) unit and two officers from the Ciracas Police to ensure that there was no interference in the process from other parties.
The presidential election is due to take place on July 9. According to the KPU, 190.2 million people have been registered on the final voter list (DPT), 188.2 million of whom are domestic voters and 2.03 million who are based overseas. (fss)
