Jokowi preps for second debate

Presidential candidate Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo says despite a busy campaign schedule, he has still found time to prepare for the second presidential debate to be held on Sunday.

The second two-hour debate will discuss matters surrounding the visions of both tickets on the economy and social welfare and will be broadcast live on MetroTV and Bloomberg TV from 8 p.m.

"You know how it is, you need to prepare for such things. We definitely have a plan," he said while visiting the Soesilo Soedarman Museum in Cilacap, Central Java on Friday night, as reported by tribunnews.com.

Jokowi said a special team was helping him for the next debate. However, the presidential candidate declined to name the team'€™s members.

He added that the most important part of the Indonesian economy was its people.

"Essentially, we must support the people, we must support markets, farmers and fishermen. That's the gist [of what I'll be talking about]," he said.

In addition to preparing his materials, Jokowi said that eating well and getting enough rest was also a top priority for the debate.

Jokowi prepared for the first debate by holding a simulation with several members of his team of experts in Jakarta.

The Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla ticket, which received the number two slot on the ballot list, is supported by a coalition led by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), which also consists of the NasDem Party, the National Awakening Party (PKB) and the Hanura Party, which combined have secured 36.97 percent or 207 out of the total 560 seats in the next House of Representatives.
