"Nowyour task is to help spread information on who I really am and who my rivalreally is. Tell your neighbors, friends, relatives, that Indonesia will bebetter if I become president. Include that information in your teachings aswell," Jokowi told hundreds of his supporters at Situ Buleud field inPurwakarta.
He madethe statement after receiving a declaration of support from a group of peopleclaiming to represent hundreds of Koran recital teachers in the regency.
On thestage, Jokowi also responded to some accusations made by the dubious tabloid OborRakyat.
"Iwas said to be a son of a Singaporean. Do you believe that? How can I be a sonof a Singaporean with this ndeso [hillbilly] face?" Jokowi said to thelaughter of the audience.
VisitingPurwakarta is part of Jokowi's six-day tour to West and Central Java which hasbeen underway since Monday. Previously he visited Cikarang and Karawang.
Lateron Tuesday, Jokowi proceeded to Subang and Pamanukan, and planned to end the dayin Indramayu.
