he Papua Police have named nine suspectsin the assault of Brig. Asriadi, who died after attempting to break up a dicegambling game at Youtefa market in Jayapura, Papua on Wednesday.
"We have named nine as suspects of the assault, while another 14 have been named suspects on gambling charges," Papua Police chief Insp. Gen. Tito Karnavian said in Jayapura on Thursday.
Tito, however, acknowledged that an offender who ran away with Asriadi's rifle was still at large.

Tito added that the police had formed four teams in order to solve the gambling and assault cases.
Separately, Jayapura Mayor Benhur Tommy Mano said that he was determined to eradicate cases of gambling, which have caused distress to the general public. (fss/dic)
