Toyota records 23% business growth in June

T Toyota Astra Motor recorded a 23.6 percent rise in sales in Indonesia in June this year, which translates to 39,107 vehicles sold, compared to the previous month.
Vice president director Suparno Djasmin said that the sales were higher than the monthly average of 37,000.
'We are grateful because we booked double digit growth in June and maintained our position as the market leader with a market share of 35.4 percent, which is higher than our previous target of 34 percent," Suparno said in Jakarta as quoted by Antara news agency on Tuesday.
He thanked the customers who continued to trust Toyota's products and after-sale services.
"Throughout June 2014, every segment booked significant growth," he said.
In the sedan segment, the firm sold 1,083 products such as Vios, Corolla, Camry and Toyota 86, a 1.1 percent increase from the 1,071 vehicles sold in May.
In the compact car segment, Toyota booked 39.1 percent sales growth last month, selling 9,946 vehicles.
One of its newest product, the Astra Toyota AGYA, also saw good sale performance with 5,849 sold in June 2014, a 35.6 rise compared to the previous month.
Moreover, in the Multi Purposes Vehicle (MPV) segment, the company saw 20.2 percent business growth last month.
They sold 17,396 MPV products, such as the Avanza, Innova and Alphard.
Meanwhile in the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) group, the firm sold 4,469 Rush and Fortuner. (nfo)
