efending '€œCup'€ champion APC United was too hot to handle, as it thrashed the WPP Wizards by 8 wickets to lift the '€œCup'€ for the third straight year. Meanwhile in the '€œPlate'€ finals, Menara comfortably beat the Jakarta Barbarians by 4 wickets to lift the '€œPlate'€ on Sunday in Cibubur, East Jakarta.

Captain William Noronha'€™s decision to bowl first on a partly cloudy day seemed to backfire as WPP openers blasted 31 runs in the first 2 overs. From there on it was a downhill journey for WPP, which was bundled out for a paltry 91 runs in 18 overs. Aman picked up 4 wickets while man of the match JP le Riche and Rajeev took 2 wickets each.

Naidu top scored with 21 runs. APC completed the formalities in 14 overs losing just 2 wickets, with run machine Viraj Bhamar scoring an unbeaten 65 runs. '€œWe just thought that WPP would expect us to bat first, so we wanted to surprise them. But above all, God has been just too kind'€, remarked the modest victorious captain Willy, after the match.

In the '€œPlate'€ finals, the Menara bowlers lead by Harsih Tiwari Mamaji'€™s 2 wickets for 12 runs and Mohit Ji Keswani and Gaurav'€™s 2 wickets each helped restrict the Barbarians to 120 runs. Ben Burgess top scored with 28 runs.

Menara was 58/5 in 10 overs and it was anyone'€™s game from there on. But man of the match Sushant Gambhir hit a quick-fire unbeaten 31 runs off 14 balls and Guarav Tiwari (24 not out) ensured Menara'€™s victory in 15 overs. Ben, Kunal and Scott Masson took 2 wickets each.

'€œWe will now take a Lebaran break for 3 weeks before we start the League for 2014-15 on 10th August'€ informed JCA president Randy Reckerman.
