ive were instantly killed and three suffered severe injuries when a Fortuner special utility vehicle (SUV) hit a truck on the Trans Sumatra highway at 34-kilometer point in Pranti Luweh village, Bungo regency, Jambi province, on Sunday evening.
Jambi Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Alamsyah said on Monday that the four victims, identified as Agus Asmaya, Firda Jumiatul, Chairiah and Suci Yasni Dayanti were passengers of the SUV while the other victim was the truck driver's assistant, who has not been unidentified.
Alamsyah said the deceased had been transferred to a morgue at Saudara Hospital in Bungo regency while the injured victims, identified as Ari, M Syafei and Rahmat were at Bungo General Hospital.
'The truck driver fled following the accident. The case is still being handled by the Bungo Police,' Alamsyah said.
