'All the sellers of the liquor were fined between Rp 400,000 [US$34] and Rp 12 million,' Bantul Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Surawan said.
Surawan said the sellers where mostly concentrated in tourist areas, such as the beaches at Parangtritis, Depok, Parangkusumo and Samas.
Bantul Police drug unit chief Adj. Comr. Heri Maryanto admitted that the police struggled to control the illegal sale of alcohol.
'Without the public, it would be difficult to control.'
