udget cost carrier PT Citilink Indonesia is set to open chartered flight services to China using Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam, Riau Islands, as a transit stop starting on Saturday.

The services will connect Bali, the country's most popular destination, to Chongqing Jiangbei in China.

"In the first stage, the service will last until the end of September this year. Every flight from Denpasar [Bali] to Chongqing and vice versa will make a stop in Batam," Batam Indonesia Free Trade Zone Authority (BIFZA) spokesman Dwi Wiwoho said in Batam on Friday, as quoted by Antara news agency.

He said the flight from Denpasar would use QG-8802 as its flight number and take off from Ngurah Rai International Airport at 12:35 p.m. Bali time and arrive in Batam at 2:05 p.m.

Meanwhile, flight QG-8801 from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport will depart at 9:40 p.m. Chongqing time and arrive in Batam the following day at 1:30 a.m.

In July, he said the service would be available on July 26 and 31.

"The carrier will be using the latest Airbus A320 for this service," he said. (nfo)
