 Prabowo rejection rant on Youtube

P

rabowo Subianto, in his latest speech uploaded to Youtube, has once again slung mud at the democratic process of the 2014 presidentialelection.

He said the election was marred by '€œmassive and systematic'€ fraud and accused president-elect Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo of cheating throughout the whole process.

In his 23-minute speech, Prabowo said he had chosen to run in the election because Indonesia, despite its abundant resources, could not develop while its wealth was being stolen by foreign entities.

'€œWe are very unhappy and very sorry to say that this year'€™s presidential election failed and was unlawful because it violated democracy,'€ he said.

The General Elections Commission (KPU), he said, had ignored recommendations made by the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) regarding foul play.

'€œHow will we survive and face the future if we can buy [the favor of] judges'€™ and KPU officials? Seriously, our country is heading for failure,'€ he said.

Prabowo also said that his camp had suspicions and indications that some foreign countries wanted to weaken and destroy Indonesia.

This speech follows another delivered on July 22 when Prabowo stated that he had pulled out of the presidential election, something that was later corrected by his camp.

The KPU had declared that the Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla ticket won the presidential election with 53.15 percent of the votes, while the Prabowo-Hatta Rajasa ticket only garnered 46.85 percent. (gda/dic)
