eil Bantleman and Ferdinant Tjiong, two suspects in a case of sexual abuse at the Jakarta International School (JIS), underwent lie detector tests at the National Police headquarters on Thursday.
Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said that the tests were held on Thursday and that the police were still waiting for the results. 'We are still waiting for the polygraph results of the two teachers,' Rikwanto said.
As both Neil and Ferdinant have denied allegations of sexually assaulting a JIS kindergarten student, they were originally asked to take lie detection tests on July 17. However, the tests were postponed at the request of the suspects due to health-related reasons.
Rikwanto added that the police were scheduled to question Elsa Donohue on her capacity as a witness, after the Idul Fitri holiday.
'We will also make our conclusion on the case after the holiday,' Rikwanto said.
Meanwhile, Neil and Ferdinant's lawyer, Hotman Paris Hutapea, said that the lie detector tests showed that the police did not have a strong case.
'The lie detector tests are proof that the police are lacking in evidence and witnesses to prosecute my clients,' he said.
